Dream Team

Post  EPICxPENGUIN69 on May 25th 2013, 9:55 pm

Ok so I like doing this shit every year in the middle of the year. What is your dream team line up? whos the best at their positions? dream starting rotation? Best closer?

1: Verlander - the dude just pitches a crazy amount of pitches and gets faster during the game
2: Harvey - He is just pure ML pitcher with that fastball
3: Kershaw - Sandy Kofax 2.0
4: Sabbathia - Work horse innings eater
5: Cain - good fast ball and great secondary pitches
CL: Kimbrile - his Kp9 is stupid high, perfect 48 for 48 saves last year

DH: Miggy* - need a say more about his hitting?
C: Posey - patient hitter and calls great games
1st: Votto - great player and works the pitch count, no wasted at bats
2nd: Phillips - the dude is crazy good at fielding
3rd: Sandoval - I think he is the best 3rd basemen right now, better than wright
SS: Tulowitzki - solid fielder, good power, decent average
RF: Hamilton - he has a lot of slumps but he has a ton of power
CF: Trout - 5 tool guy
LF: Bruan - good average, average power, good fielder. shitty base runner though

*He isn't a true 3rd baseman, I put him as my DH. He fields ok but it isn't a natural position for him.

Kershaw
Verlander
King Felix (how the fuck you forget about him?)
Stephen Strasburg
RA Dickey (because fuck you)
Closer: Rivera (because he's a legend)

DH:Chris Davis
C: Buster Posey
1B: Joey Votto (because he's a beauty)
2B: Robinson Cano/Dustin Pedrioa (either one is a stud)
3B: Miggy (who cares if it's not natural for him, Sandoval is a fat fuck that can't run)
SS: Tulo (though Segura looks like the real deal this year)
LF: CarGo (because fuck Braun and his steriods)
CF: Trout (no doubt)
RF: Joey Bats (because he's got a cannon of an arm)

listen i love felix, just i dont know, the 5 names i put i like more. as for sandoval, he is fat but he is a better all around 3rd basemen. miggy is a great hitter but a average to below average fielder. wright was my initial thought but he doesnt have enough pop comparatively.

cargo is a good outfielder but he isnt "the guy" you know. bruan is basically the breewers line up because they dont have many good hitters

rivera is a legand but kimbrile is amazing out of the pen.

votto won the mlb face contest or what ever

bautista is good but i dont know. between him and hamilton its like whats the pros and cons for each. both can be slumpy type guys and some times quit out there. hamilton is a better power hitter when he isnt crying him self to sleep or shoooting smack. baustisa pulls the ball to left field for every HR, hamilton can slap it any which way

CarGo can be a 30-30 guy if he's healthy all season. He's well on pace to reach that. Add on the fact that he's a career .300 hitter and can get on base. And then he can play any position in the outfield, got the speed to make up ground fact, and got a great arm.

As for Bautista vs. Hamilton. They're both basically the same with the only difference being that Bautista can play anywhere on the field.

hamilton is a natural CF, only reason why he was moved over to RF/LF is because of health issues. a big DL sized guy like him diving for fly balls doesnt end well.

wright was a 30-30 guy too but time takes your toll and the league catches up.

there really isnt any wrong answers here, i should find out my payroll

Meh I usually only watch the Tigers but I'll give it a shot.

Clayton Kershaw- I like him a lot. One of my favorite players. If I actually looked and wanted to watch a non-tiger game I would want to watch Kershaw pitch. Plus, he was Matthew Staffords Center in High School and Stafford was his catcher!

1st: Prince Fielder, Fuck it
2nd: Omar Infante? Hes got good range and he gets on base.
3rd: Miguel Carbrera
SS: Jean Segura
C: Buster Posey
LF: Bryce Harper?
CF: Austin Jackson Gets on base a ton, but has a great glove
RF: Torii Hunter? I guess?

Fuck DH

Like I said I watch mostly Tigers.

Oh BTW, I have Clayton Kreshaw as my number 1 because the guy is a stud. He's first all-time for ERA for pitchers with at least 1000 IP, and last night, he allowed 4 ER for the first time in 23 games. He's, in my opinion, the best pitcher in the league.
