Is the price worth it?

Post  BaltRavensFan20 on December 29th 2011, 6:54 pm

I saw Amazon has L.A. Noire for 20.00. Ive heard good and bad things. I remeber alot of you on here saying it wasnt as great as it was hyped to be.

I was also thinking on getting Red Dead Redemption GOTY for 34.00 on Amazon....

Red Dead is well worth it.

I rented Noire for a week, made it half way (i think) thru the 2nd disc and was bored with it at that point. Very repetitive and nothing really special. Not a bad game, dont get me wrong but I dont think it was worth more than the $8 I spent on it.

Lol I just got LA Noire for $30 at Best Buy. Played it for about an hour since I only want to play it on a HDTV and my parents are usually watching tv. It seems really cool but I don't know haven't played it for long. Might get repetitive like Rsox said but I dunno. It seemed worth it at $30.

I played a little more today. The questioning you have to do is tough! It's a cool aspect to have but I don't like how your at the station and you need to get a confession and every time you get it wrong, you have to rewatch the whole thing again!

Red Dead Redemption, get it! Amazing! The undead nightmare thing is good when you beat the singleplayer mode

LA Niore Is average in my book. i'd give it 3.5 out of 5. Its entertaining but does get repetitive...

I really like it. I understand the repetitive part but I guess it's a matter of what you enjoy. I personally enjoy well done stories and LA Noire has that going for them (minus a few flaws).

I think the main problem with the game is who made it. I think people believed that since it was a Rockstar game, we should expect a cop by day, a mass murderer by night. That's not the case at all. If you even hit a person with your car, a little warning pops up that you will get in trouble for doing so. If you hit a cop, you fail the case and go back to the last checkpoint. I accidentally backed into a cop and failed the case lol. You're also only allowed to use your gun when the game allows you to. So expecting to run around shooting people for fun and racking up a 6 star wanted level is out of the question.

The main flaw I found with the game is the ridiculous moments where you feel like your playing Uncharted 3. Seriously, it feels like your playing Uncharted 3. I've never played Uncharted 3 but I've seen videos of it and the gun battles look very alike. Whenever you get close to dying, your screen goes black and white and the aim is basically a dot. And I don't get it, why is that one movie set the weakest structure known to man? At one point, you have to sway back and forth to get to the other side. It's just not realistic.

Also, why can you never just hold a suspect down? Why is it seem every case, there's 2 or 3 suspects that just run away from you even though you're right on them? And why is it that every time there's a hostage situation, my character always yells "PUT THE GUN DOWN, NOW" and then it becomes a hide and seek situation where the guy moves his head around like a moron and I have to pin the tail on the fucker?

It's not too big of a deal, just a few minor flaws. The story is great and I got into it a lot. If you enjoy the story, you'll enjoy the game. It's basically like watching CSI based in the late 1940's where you're the lead detective and there's no super B.S. like in CSI where they'll find a blood drop and they use some fancy machine to find out what kind of food he ate in 1986.

BUT IF THIS LONG REVIEW DIDN'T HELP, THIS IS A LOT FUNNIER: (warning spoilers)
